Ebola Clinics - Ghana

At the close of 2014, West African Nations were hit with a massive outbreak of Ebola Virus Disease, or more commonly know as hemorrhagic fever or Ebola. By October 2015, over 20,000 individual Ebola cases had been reported and over 11,000 lives had been claimed.

In response to this outbreak OEDI, in conjunction with it's In Country Coordinators (ICC) in Ghana, established nine clinics for preventative education. The main goals of these clinics are education, prevention, and early alert for potentially effected communities. Alongside these clinics, our ICC's launched a public awareness campaign throughout Central Ghana. This campaign for education and prevention of Ebola took place at schools, clinics, and churches and was accompanied by a public radio broadcast. These preventative clinics are considered a wide success by the coordinators.
